Onward to Adventure – Pokemon Red and Blue – Which Pokemon Should You Start With?

Today’s episode does not focus on the debate between Charmander, Squirtle and Bulbasaur. While the starter debate is always a good one, that’s not what we’re talking about here today.

I’m talking about which Pokemon you find on the first couple of routes that you should keep around and build up?

Today, Pokemon like Rattata and Nidoran get their chance to shine!

Onward to Adventure – Pokemon – The Mew Glitch Works on Virtual Console

The Mew Glitch actually works in Pokemon Red, Blue and Yellow for the Virtual Console. I’m surprised Nintendo would leave something like this in!

So first off, I would like to thank Nintendo for keeping Pokemon Red, Blue and Yellow as authentic as possible in their re-release. Its been a joy to take a trip down memory lane with these games.

Second, I’m going to take people briefly through how to accomplish the Mew Glitch. I’m not the best at demonstrating this, but there are quite a few videos on YouTube that outline the process or you can always visit Bulbapedia if you need more information.

Or you can listen to me describe it in all my stumbly glory!

What do you think of this sneaky way to catch a Mew? While it isn’t a legitimate Mew from an officially-sanctioned Nintendo event, its the closest we will ever get to getting this Pokemon on our Virtual Console versions of the game!

Onward to Adventure – Why Raising Gyarados is Essential in Pokemon

Since I’m still playing Pokemon Red and Blue for the Nintendo 3DS, I figured today would be a good time to talk about one of my favorite Pokemon in the game to raise… Magikarp and Gyarados.

Gyarados has always been an essential Pokemon to raise in the Pokemon games. So much so that I pay the 500 bucks to buy Gyarados as soon as I can in Pokemon Red and Blue.

Its worth it. Its ALWAYS worth it.

We’re going to be talking about Pokemon Red and Blue for a little while, so if there’s a Pokemon you want to talk about or a part of the game you want to discuss, let us know!

Onward to Adventure – Pokemon Red, Blue and Yellow on the 3DS – Thoughts and Reflections

Its been a little less than two weeks since Pokemon Red, Blue and Yellow made the jump to Nintendo’s 3DS… and I’ve been playing these games ever since.

I’m happy to say that these games are worth your time to pick up if you have been thinking about, as the classic games have been brought to the Nintendo 3DS completely intact, glitches and all!

Expect more videos coming from me on the new games. Sorry for the wait in content from February until now. Expect plenty more from GameOnGNT as we head into one of the channel’s busiest parts of the year.

Be sure to join us for our Calgary Expo coverage, coming in April and May!

The Adventure Continues? What’s Going on With Onward to Adventure?

So my main YouTube channel, GameOnGNT, is doing well, but I’d like to share my other YouTube channel here with you today.

I started the Onward to Adventure YouTube channel last year during the summer, with ideas of doing Let’s Plays of RPGs on the side of my regular channel. I love RPGs, but didn’t have a way to get into my regular content without starting something new.

That didn’t really work, given I had a wedding coming up in August and absolutely no time to dedicate to a steady diet of RPGs for the channel.

But now I started using the channel again with a new feature I’ve been doing, Jeff’s Gaming Journal, which is basically a gaming vloggers journal. I talk about the games I’ve played throughout the day and talk about a gaming topic that’s caught my attention.

Closer to the summer season, I will be bringing Onward to Adventure back to the channel as well, so there will be plenty of stuff for you to check out when the time comes! The first game we will be tackling when the time comes is Earthbound, so get ready!

Anyway, come check out my second channel, watch a few journal entries and let me know what you think!

GameOn First Impressions – Criminal Girls: Invite Only

Today, I take a look at Criminal Girls: Invite Only from NIS America, available physically and digitally across North America today.

We’re bringing back our GameOn First Impressions series, and believe me, you will be getting a lot of first impression videos, now that we’ve got a PlayStation TV.

NIS America has provided us with an absolutely ridiculous catalog of games to give a go, so we’re going through quite a few JRPGs at the moment, including today’s title.

Criminal Girls: Invite Only isn’t your typical dungeon crawler and that can be good or bad, depending on your perspective.

On one hand, this is the most unique battle system that I’ve had the opportunity to play in quite some time. The characters in your party propose what moves they want to do while fighting the enemy. This creates innovation and strategy, as each character has a different moveset, but you can only select one option at a time. I’ve had a lot of fun playing because of this.

But on the other hand, there’s the Motivate system… which involves motivating the girls in your party with things like whips and tazers.

The Motivate system requires you to gather skill points by winning battles and use these points to level up in the Motivate mini-game. To complete the mini-game, you have to use tools like whips and tazers on certain icons that pop up within a time limit.

While this is going on, there’s a suggestive picture of the party member you are levelling up in the background, hidden in pink smoke. Each time you successfully whip an icon, some of the pink smoke disappears, revealing more of the picture.

FANSERVICE IS THE NAME OF THE GAME.

GameOn First Impressions is our chance to give you a look at what to expect from some of the newest games to come out. Sometimes a game is simply too long to give a full review under our time constraints. We’re looking at the first hour of this game and talking about what stands out and what falls flat.

If you like what you see, check it out for yourself and download Criminal Girls: Invite Only on your PlayStation Vita from PSN!
